Personal, Professional Service

It is owner-managed by John Irwin MPSI. Having first-hand experience of pharmacy healthcare in the UK for over 10 years and now running his own Dublin 2  pharmacy on Lombard Street East, Dublin 2,  John’s knowledge and hands-on-experience ensures that patients get a very personal and one-on-one service.

John is originally from Navan, Co Meath. He is a family man, married to Mary Louise and has one daughter, Rachel Anne. In his spare time (when he has some!), he follows lots of different sport, with a special interest in horseracing. He sometimes even passes on good tips to his customers!

Our Door is Always Open

Opened since 2009, we provide a convenient, friendly and professional healthcare service to local residents, patients from the local medical centres, employees of local businesses, students and staff from both Trinity College & Atlantic College and of course, daily pedestrians.

Meet the Team

Dublin CityLocation

We are a community based Dublin 2 Pharmacy in the heart of Dublin city centre.

The Pharmacy is just beside Mark’s Lane, where the Pearse Street Medical Centre is located.   Pearse Street Medical Centre

This centre has been in operation in the area for over 50 years and moved in to new, modern, purpose-built premises in October 2009.  There are two GPs in the Health Centre - Dr Niall O’Cleirigh and Dr Sean Gilroy. Dr O’Cleirigh has been a respected GP in the area for many years, after taking over the practice from his father.

The Pharmacy is easily found, diagonally across the junction from Pearse Street, Westland Row Dart & Train Station
We are also just around the corner from Trinity College Dublin Sports Centre where its famous climbing wall is located .  This wall is 11m high and 18m wide, with space for 14 routes, which can be used simultaneously along with an overhang to test your lead climbing.  It is ideal for team-building exercises or better still, a birthday party with a difference.  Just as well we give discount to students & staff, but thankfully, due to excellent standards of safety, there have been no emergencies and or bandages required!

People crawling a wallWe are only a stones through from Trinity College Health Centre & Dublin Dental Hospital which is ideal for all the students and staff of Trinity College Dublin.  In Lombard Pharmacy, they can avail of their discount for all the last minute emergencies or regular prescriptions they might need.

This part of Dublin 2 attracts a lot of visiting tourists and therefore offers a great range of accommodation, ranging from The Trinity City Hotel (Lower end of Pearse Street, near the Fire Station), the Maldron Hotel on Pearse Street itself and not far up the road to The Alexander Hotel, Davenport Hotel & Mont Clare Hotel, all located just off Merrion Square.  All these hotels are within walking distance to Lombard Pharmacy.

Other useful local services close to the pharmacy include the Civil Registration Office, located on Lombard Street itself and the National Drug Treatment Centre  located @ McCarthy Centre, 30-31 Pearse Street.
